If you offered your students the option to review problems from the book or play a computer game I doubt very many would choose the book. Prodigy recognized the need for learning that didn't look or feel like learning.
The games offered through prodigy are designed around learning first instead of shoehorning the lesson into the game.

Prodigy offers premium memberships for parent purchase and includes a clause on their site that states that user data will never be sold or leased.
They are certified as complaint with COPPA, FERPA and CSPC.
Prodigy includes links to multiple articles showing positive results using their program.
Less academic research that includes individual articles written by Prodigy users/staff. These resources can be filtered by type and include links to additional teaching tools as well.
